Isabel and I walked home tonight and the streets were crazy. Everywhere you looked, people were screaming, dancing, laughing and high-fiving. What an amazing feeling. What a difference one night can make. I feel rejuvenated. I feel proud. I am so happy that my country did the right thing. Obama’s speech was amazing. I knew it would be. As most of us did, I went into this night feeling good but nervous. Once they called Pennsylvania, I thought it might be over. After Ohio, it was. With 18 seconds to 11 PM we all started clapping slowly, speeding up as it counted down. With 10 seconds to go, I thought to myself “This is it. They are not going to call a few states. They are going to name Barack Obama our next President”. And then it happened. We all start screaming. My eyes teared up. I am looking forward to tomorrow. I am looking forward to the next four years. America is back. Yes We Can!!
