Are The Killers Pearl Jam?
I’m listening to Sam’s Town right now, The Killers’ second album (of three). When it first came out I didn’t like it at all. It took me 6 months and then I randomly listened to it again and started loving it. Their third album -Day & Age- is pretty good as well.
I was just thinking how The Killers are sort of like Pearl Jam. Everyone loves Ten. Many people love Vs. Not as many people love Vitalogy. Pearl Jam has released 10 albums and I like them all a lot. Most people though haven’t bought any of their albums since the first few.
It looks like that is what is happening to The Killers. They keep putting out good albums but really most people love Hot Fuss and only their true fans love the others. It remains to be seen whether they can put out an album that equals the mass appeal of Hot Fuss. I guess a lot of bands probably fit this category but listening to The Killers right now really made me think of this.
