The 4 levels of Halloween costumes

It has occurred to me that all Halloween costumes fall into these 4 categories:

Level 1: Made from scratch. This would include the friend who makes a giant papier-mache alien or the friend who wears a giant castle made out of cardboard.

Level 2: A combination of clothing, makeup, hair-color and/or props. This would include the friend who wears a red shirt, overalls, a fake mustache and ‘M’ hat and calls himself Mario.

Level 3: Store bought costume. This would include the friend who wears a Star-Wars costume or Hulk-Hogan, etc.

Level 4: A single prop. This is the friend who dresses normal but carries a plastic sword or throws on a wig and thinks he is wearing a costume.

I think you can tell from the 2003 photo below where I fall and where Jon falls. Happy Halloween!
