Top 4 cheap eats in Manhattan

Here are my top 4 cheap eats. It’s been the same list for a few years now. These are places that I pretty much have to eat at if I am near them. In no particular order:

1. Kati Roll. These are incredible Indian rolls. I get 2 chicken rolls for a cost of $8.50. They are pretty spicy, pretty greasy and delicious. There are two locations in NYC - West Village and Midtown near Penn Station.

2. Alfanoose. If you want the best shawarma in the city, head down to the financial district and grab one from Alfanoose. They used to be in a tiny store, but moved around the block into a really nice spacious location. If you go around lunch time, expect to wait a while as the line is out the door. Any other time it’s pretty empty. $7.95 for a sandwhich.

3. BB Sandwich Bar. Probably the least known of the bunch, BB Sandwich Bar has been around for 7 years making the best cheeseteaks in the city. These are not Philly wannabe steaks. They are more like Roast Beef with cheese and special sauce. Whatever they are, they are really good. $5 for a sandwich.

4. Shake Shack. The first time I had Shake Shack was my first day working at Delicious. Joshua Schachter introduced it to me as “The best burger you will ever have”. He may have set the expectation high, but no matter - it turned out to be true. I introduce people to it like that all the time with a 95% success rate as the best burger ever. I usually get a single shack burger although the shroom burger is excellent as well. Single Shack - $4.75
