My First Game at Citi Field
On Saturday night, I went to my first game at Citi Field. I’m a pretty big Mets fan, but usually only go to 2 or 3 games a year. Partly because Shea was not very fun, but also because it’s a 45 min subway ride, it’s usually hot and uncomfortable and HD is really nice.
I went with my sister and brother-in-law who had been a few times already. I must say, I really loved the new stadium. I’ve heard some negative comments about the stadium, but I attribute those to very high expectations. The bottom line is that it is a very nice ballpark and a thousand times better than Shea.
The food was great (I had a Shack burger), the sound system was great, the HD screens everywhere were great, the fully-automatic bathrooms were great, the standing room with cup holders were great, the subway entrance was great and the parking lot was great. It is so amazing to see the progress in architecture, engineering, luxury and technology that we have made since 1964 when Shea was built.
The game itself was great since we saw a rare Mets win. Johan pitched beautifully. We had amazing seats since my brother-in-law knows Bronson Arroyo’s agent!
